This policy covers the Livetiming Medley Reader app for Android and iOS. The app shows public swim meet results. We show no ads, do not use the advertising ID and do not sell information about you.

What we collect

  • App IDs. The app creates random IDs the first time it starts. They are used for usage statistics, crash reports and push notifications. The IDs contain no name or contact details, but they let us see that events come from the same installation. On iOS, Apple's identifier for vendor is used as the push notification ID.
  • Usage statistics. Which screens in the app are opened and for how long, some actions (such as refreshing lists), app version and network status.
  • Crash reports and diagnostics. Error messages, a technical log from before the error, device model, operating system and app version. On Android, a crash report may also include a short screen recording of the app just before the error.
  • Push notifications (if you turn them on). A push token from Google (Android) or Apple (iOS), the app ID, and what you want notifications about: meets you follow and names of favourite swimmers.
  • Purchases. When you buy a subscription, the receipt (purchase token, product and transaction ID) is sent to our server, which verifies the purchase with Google Play or the App Store. We do not store the receipt, and we never receive card or payment details.
  • Account (optional). If you sign in with Google or Apple to sync favourite swimmers between devices, we receive a user ID and the email address Google or Apple shares with us. With Apple this may be an anonymous relay address. Your favourites list is stored on our server, linked to the user ID.
  • IP address. As with any online service, our servers see your IP address when the app fetches data. It is used to deliver content and in technical logs.

Purpose and legal basis

  • Providing what you have chosen to use – subscription, push notifications and syncing favourites. The legal basis is contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Fixing bugs, keeping the app stable and understanding how it is used. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Who processes the data

These providers process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes:

  • Microsoft Azure – servers, storage, usage statistics (stored in Norway), push notifications and sign-in.
  • Sentry – crash reports (stored in the EU).

Google and Apple deliver push notifications to your phone, and are independently responsible for purchases in Google Play and the App Store and for signing in with your Google or Apple account. Their own privacy policies apply: Google and Apple.

We do not share data with anyone else.

Retention

  • Usage statistics, crash reports and server logs: up to 12 months.
  • Push registration: until you turn off notifications in the app. If you uninstall the app, the push token stops working and the registration is removed automatically.
  • Account and favourite swimmers: until you ask us to delete them.

Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Microsoft and Sentry are US companies. Where data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA, this happens under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or another valid transfer mechanism.

Security

All communication between the app and our services is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the data is limited to those who operate the service. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we process about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or handed over. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interest. Contact us at tivik@online.no. If you believe we process data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

Deleting your account and data

You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it. See Delete account and data.

Children

The app is not aimed at young children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. Changes are published here with the date below.
